Honestly, its like a hyped up religious collective in every era of history! In every era there is a “master” of his art style, backed up the elite because critics think of their work as transcendental. And the masses are quick to accept the views of the elite because they want to assimilate. We have the patron (the elite), the preacher (the critic), and the believers (the masses).
Really, is this what humanity is about? Still praising colorful paintings, stone statues, and radical shapes? How is that different from any religious or primitive practice?
Just another way the elite get to flaunt their riches in the face of the masses.
If this is the future, then I have no faith left in humanity.
